The Directorate of Labour in Iceland is one of four participants in a European project called EMPOWER, but other partners come from the UK, Lithuania and Greece. The aim of the project is twofold: To develop training materials for women of foreign origin and support workers and volunteers who work with women of foreign origin.
The training gives women the opportunity to develop their personal skills and competences and increase their employability. If the participants have a business idea, they will get assistance in developing them.
The training consists of 8 training modules with the focus on developing strengths and abilities, to strengthen the positive attributes and resilience and goal setting.
The training starts in April until the end of May, a total of 4 days with two modules delivered in one day. On the following week, we will offer the participants to join Mentoring Circles where they get a chance to reflect more deeply on issues and problems they are facing. The training has a limited number of participants, 10 places in the training and 5 in the mentoring circles.
The training will be delivered in English so a good proficiency in English is necessary for participants.
The training is funded by the European Union and therefore free of charge.
